In a break from my recent lack of posting (and avoidance of the caps lock button on my keyboard) I have probably what most people will see as the most redundant article ever.

Luke this is for you, I have it on good authority that you have been doing things VERY wrong! Forget Holy. Forget Protection. What a paladin really needs to spec in is Retribution!

And this article will show you exactly how to gear said paladin so he/she becomes a fearsome sight on any battlefield.

Midsummer Fun

Lowbie crafting

As you have probably realised, thing have been a bit slow on here over the past few days, and with the guild in general. Everyone seems to be going away or job searching or both... Well that should now begin to change again.

Not only should all members be looking for people to join the guild (levels 30+) but I want to put forward my services (and others) in the crafting of lowbie items.

At the moment I have a mid ranged Blacksmith and leatherworker and a high ranged alchemist. Not only that, but through a wide range of alts within the guild I have a stockpile of materials.

So if you want anything crafted for any char in the guild send 'Blimpyboy' a message in game and I will see what I can do.

WoTLK Warlocks = Melee Demon Lords

Pretty cool possibility is the talent - which, it must be stressed is still in the alpha stage of development - that allows warlocks to turn into Dreadlords.

Amazing really. A caster who would then look for high end dps weapons and level up swords or daggers!

Shaman: No magic involved in using your stick(s).

Apparently all the Shammys out there who (at least on WoW insider) are crying out for a buff are getting a small change go their way.

It seems minor, and may be minor in the long run, but this change would allow totems to be used through Spell Lock and Silence effects. When your Shaman gets Counterspelled in the arena, they'll still be able to drop Totems at least. It certainly won't fix everything, but you'll still have some of your defenses(and offenses) available to you, and you won't be completely shut down.

WoW lore - Get more 'into it'

Yeah, some may say that lore is for nerds... But hey! You are playing a computer game so screw you!

In reality (that is, my reality) lore is a great way to get more invested into the game and enjoy it on a whole new level (without the use of recreational drugs).

So imagine my (non-trippy) delight at the discovery of this post on WoW insider. Its a Q&A session with a lore nerd and a perfect quick overview of a few specific areas of the lore and back story of our precious little game.

Q: What is Tirisfal?

A: There are things that we know, and things that we don't know about Tirisfal. The Tirisfal Glades are where the Highborne who fled Kalimdor landed after the Sundering, before settling Quel'Thalas. It later became home to Humans and the center of the Kingdom of Lordaeron. After a really long time, the Scourge came along, destroyed the kingdom, and turned everyone into Undead. A fraction of the undead army broke free of the Will of the Lich King, named themselves the Forsaken, and now rule that region.

What we don't know mostly surrounds the Tirisfalen, the Council of Tirisfal. They were a Council of very, very powerful Mages who fought the Burning Legion in secrecy. The Council was founded by High Elves as far as we know, so it's a little unusual Tirisfal was their gathering place and not Quel'Thalas. However, there is mention of being something very, very powerful beneath the Tirisfal Glades, with little indication of what it may be. We do know that the Titans sealed some of the Old Gods underground, so that may be the source of that power, but we don't really know for sure (though there is evidence that it might be the case). It may be tied to the Legion somehow, or some other source of power entirely.

Other questions cover the hidden kingdom of Gilneas (which we are yet to meet in WoW) and 'Who is the Lion of Azeroth?'.

Fun times, especially for those who are new to the game and want to get more 'into it'... Ahem.

Addon fo j00 huntards: Fizzwidget's Feed-O-Matic

Actually this one is really good.

The Feed-O-Matic is an addon which helps you with the feeding of your often forlorn and forgotten pet. Quote below from WoW Insider.

Feed-O-Matic handles feeding your pet, automating the process of opening your bag, finding food and stuffing into your pets face. The part I find most useful is the reminder it creates for feeding my hungry wolf. I've configured the addon to create an emote when I feed my pet, just so everyone knows how humane I am in my treatment of a pet I ask to fight on my behalf. (Ironic I know, but it helps me sleep at night.)

When I am less than lazy about things, and end up playing a hunter as well as all my other alts I usually install this sort of addon; Its well worth it and you miss it when its gone.

So go get you lovely bestiality loving people. Here!

As you may or may not know there have been a few changes within this website and on the forums. Now I know nothing is completed, but here is a small list of things which are at least functional.

RSS = Robots Servicing Snakes

Actually I am not quite sure what it stands for.. And even though a quick search would tell me the answer I am being stubborn and am not going to do it.

What RSS does actually do on the other hand does matter to me, and not only that but it could matter to you, because its remarkably useful.

RSS allows you to monitor posts on blogs or websites for news and updates.

So for example you could set up an RSS feed for this website, and through that you will know when there is any new Guild based news as soon as its posted. Not only that but all of the 'new' updates will wait for you to check them out so they wont be lost ever.

Pretty handy, eh? You will never miss an open raid with RSS, or a guild party or indeed (if we ever do one) a competition. And not only that, but RSS works for almost every news site or blog on the Internet now including WoW based efforts such as WoW Insider, or indeed the BBC news website.

Anyway, how do you set an RSS feed up?

There are as many ways as there are grains of sand on a beach... Ok, maybe not that many, but quite a few.

I will point out three.

#1. Firefox (and possibly IE8) Have inbuilt accommodation for RSS feeds within their basic set up. Click 'Bookmarks' then 'Subscribe to this Page'.

#2. Google Reader. Never used this, but it should be easy. The benefit here is that Google reader is its in the CLOUD - that is not based on your computer in any way and thus can be accessed from any workstation in the world.

#3. Use a stand alone program such as Feed Demon. Here you install the program and use its various features to manage your feeds however you want. Its simply a matter of clicking on any RSS pic (the orange square thing above) on any website and it should automatically begin the process of setting itself up on the program.

Now I understand this has not been as clear as you might expect, but to be honest I am getting a little tired of your jibber-jabba and demand silence...

...Oh. No just the voices in my head.

The argument goes thus;

1) There is, in the Alpha files for WotLK, a brewfest model for an alliance kodo.

2) Brewfest is in sept/oct (can't be bothered to find the date)

3) WotLK will be out, before or around brewfest.

Now as people in the comments within the link point out that doesn't really mean anything. Honestly, it may be testing for it at a later date or whatever... Except maybe it isn't as 'Antiquity' (et. al) point out...

"Like the other poster said and I have before. BC alpha to release was 4.5 months.
Don't forget Thanksgiving and Xmas were in there also, meaning 2 HUGE holidays where most people are out of the office.
3 months is a LONG time of development and you seem to forget that they've been developing WotLK for over a year at least (since BC launch). It's not like they just got started on WotLK.
Do you really think seriously Blizzard can afford the $$$ loss to wait past say Sept or Oct for WotLK to come out?
They aren't going to release lost subscriptions but it's pretty obvious that many people are cancelled till release."

New forum is up and running!

First positive news on here. I have a forum up and running.

So if you bunch of good-for-nothings would do yourselves, me and the world a favour and pop over there to register I would be eternally thankful.

There isn't much there and I am not 100% happy with the style I have chosen at the moment in time but your contributions would be ace and well received.

One more thing.

If you want to contribute to this blog and post news and comical stuff much better written then anything I could do then just ask and I will give you the permissions. (officers only... but seen as all we have are officers at the moment that hardly matters).

The forums are down and I can't really be bothered to reinstate what we had before, though it is possible. So basically you have two choices, and I will sort out both.

1) Reinstate the forum we had before
2) start a new one.

Please leave a comment and lets get this thing going again.

After discussing the issue with one other person, I think I will set up some new forums.

If anyone has any suggestions then that would be ace.

I would also suggest that people - if they use such things- put this website as an RSS feed as I will be posting many wow related things on here in the future.

Well apparently it did for some boy in Norway.

Taken from WoW Insider (like shamefully most of the WoW news that will find its way on here) the story goes that the boy defended his sister by taunting the moose then, like some uber raiding hunter of many a Kara run, 'feigned death' untill the horned-hoofed-level-60 (apparently) blighter went away.

What is probably the most important aspect of this story though are the comments at the bottom.

I would've spammed Wing Clip and kited the moose to Ironforge....

Personally, I would have let my sister tank it.

Yeah, but what the story doesn't say is that when the kid got up to run away he was jumped by 4 crag boars his sister also aggroed when she thought she saw a peacebloom on her minimap. He made a daring run for town where he thought he would find aid from one of the guards but ended up at the camp by the lake where the locals just stared at him while he was being mauled.

...It is insanity such as this which makes life worthwhile.

Or is that just me?

Darkmoon Faire

As you may or may not know, the Darkmoon Faire has landed just outside of Goldshire. A place of fun and items for your wonderful characters.

What little I know of the faire is this. You complete quests by handing in important and helpful (you have to be kidding!) items to members of the faire to get them set up and running quickly. In return you gain tickets you can hand in. Prizes come in various forms form high level items to decks of cards that can be handed in to receive uber trinkets.

Anyway, get saving your Small Furry Paws, Course Weightstones, Copper Modulators and Embossed Leather Boots for the lowbie tickets. And check out this Darkmoon Faire Guide for a better more detailed set of info.

Oh and as well, I have added a WoW calender for info on the events coming up within the game. Though it is quite limited to the rest of the year at the moment... :-s

Ok folks, we are up and running!

Right it seems as if things have worked out smoothly enough; we have a guild website for news and similar info and a forum for our inane babble and guild joining requests.

The invites for this blog have been sent out, now all that is needed for us to do is get recruiting and finalise the policies for the guild.

Just a quick note about this blog.

Can we please keep this to news and updates about the guild and not to chatter between ourselves?

We have a forum, lets use it guys!

Hey this is the new guild website, pretty lame huh?

Well why don't you go and buy a domain, get hosting and organise a forum service that is actually good in your spare time....!

Well, maybe you might, but I'm going to leave it for a couple of months before I sort it out for this guild myself. Just to see how things go and how we grow.

Right, why blogger?

As you can see if you look into my profile I've had some experience with the system and find it generally quite user-friendly and clear. It also has lots of customisability with a minimum of effort with multi-user access and a whole host of other options. So all in all its the best choice bar actually creating our own website.

...And now to sorting this heap of junk into something functional for WoW's next top guild!
